Another reason to drink the coffee

This one, from the July issue of Self:

Women who drink more than a cup of coffee a day are 22 to 25 percent less likely to have a stroke, research in Stroke reveals. The bean may also help fight diabetes and cancer, so enjoy the buzz and benefits of up to five cups daily.

That’s on top of the news coffee also can help prevent of delay the onset of Alzheimer’s.

My husband slowly is turning me into more of a local Chicago coffee elitist so as not to shame him — I now drink Intelli, Metropolis or Coffee Ambassadors — but after reading that, I made a shameless stop by Dunkin’ Donuts for an iced coffee, unsweetened, with skim milk this morning. What’s your favorite cup of coffee?

  1. I like drip coffee with half and half hot in the winter and I crave iced coffee with almond syrup and half and half in the summer.

My husband thinks coffee is bad for me, but I can quote these kinds of studies and tell them it’s good for me for so many reasons! I couldn’t wake up in the morning without it.
